Samples from live animals are routinely collected from respiratory and enteric tracts using aseptic techniques. At Dynamimed we go one step further and gather swabs from lesions and/or any other abnormalities detected during necropsy.
This service includes a thorough search for any bacterial species that are considered primary and opportunistic pathogens, as recommended by FELASA, using different agar plates. The agent identification is carried out using biochemical methods.
We always provide additional reports informing about any commensal – normally not pathogenic – and opportunistic bacteria growing on the media.
